What home automation is worth in summer
If you are going on holiday it is common to leave a key with friends or family so they can check that everything is fine and there are no signs of a break-in. In some cases you may also arrange for cleaners while you are away, or for someone to look after your pets.
With home automation you can do the same, but without a physical key. Give visitors an access code and always know when someone comes in and goes out. You can also get confirmation when someone visits and uses the door code, and alerts when someone enters an incorrect one.

One of the essentials of keeping a house secure is creating the impression of movement, so that potential intruders do not realise you are away.
Where the answer used to be asking people you trust to visit regularly, switch lights on and off and open and close the blinds, home automation lets you do all of that from wherever you are.

With a home automation system you can adjust the thermostat to heat or cool the house according to the ambient temperature, preventing overheating or burst pipes. Smart thermostats can also send alerts if a house loses power, or if the temperature inside falls or rises past a set limit.
Home automation also lets you keep an eye on the house wherever you are and whenever you want. To check on your pets, or that everything is as it should be, you only have to open the live view of your home.

A smart system also tells you immediately if something is wrong. You can set it to notify you of water leaks, fire, carbon monoxide and intruder alarms, so you can get help even when you are not there.
